Monk is one of the Main Classes in Path of Exile 2 (PoE 2). Monk is an agile
Intelligence/Dexterity class excelling in melee combat with Quarterstaves and
unarmed strikes.
Combines swift attacks, elemental explosions, and unique magical abilities
like summoning massive bells to enhance his damage. Classes in Path of Exile 2
feature 12 unique options, each with distinct strengths, weaknesses, and combat
styles, revolving around three Attribute types: Strength, Dexterity, and
Intelligence, with each class tied to one or two of these attributes.
In PoE 2, Ascendancy Classes are choices to further specialize your Class.
Other games may call is a Job Advancement, Subclass, etc. Currently in Early
Access, all 6 Classes have 2 Ascendancy Classes to choose from. It is planned
for each Class to eventually have 3 Ascendancy Class choices.
You will be able to Ascend starting in Act 2, and each Ascendancy will have a
special Passive Tree that will greatly empower your character. Here's some quick
